Hopefully yes - this is still to be written but the plan is that will sync through MobileMe or another WebDAV server.
For those without a suitable sync server or who don't or can't use the desktop version of BA, the app will also support import/export of recipes in a range of file formats.
I'd rather not go into too much detail on specific planned features at this stage as these things are subject to change but it's fairly obvious you need a way of getting stuff off and on the device.
BeerAlchemy Touch is a separate application and there will be an additional cost. Compared to BrewMath it is at least an order of magnitude more complicated - It's almost like writing BA from scratch all over again. I've made no decision on the price but it will be somewhere between the cost of BrewMath and that of BeerAlchemy on the Mac.
I see. It looks like it is a lot of work, but keep it up! I can't wait to see what comes out of it! I am a BA customer and I am thrilled with the product thus far.
Just found your software while searching for iPhone brewing software. I'm very interested in having both the desktop and iphone software sync when I plug in the iPhone to my Mac. Just like it does with iTunes. This would be ideal. Keep up the work!
If you're interested in adding any of my recipes to your database feel free. My American IPA took 2nd place in a big Seattle brewing contest a few years back. It's potent and not for the faint of heart. My fav is the Russian Imperial Stout.
1) It would require a total rewrite (the iPhone version was/is bad enough) 2) I don't own an Android device. 3) Market share - Android has about as much buzz about it as a dead Bee. I have NEVER seen a real Android device being used by a real human being. I see dozens of iPhones every day. 4) Time - I simply don't have enough. There's only me doing this and it's a part time job so I don't want to commit to a platform that I've never written for. The iPhone has the advantage (for me) that I already knew the tools and how the programming language worked. With a young family, I get around two hours per day max to spend on writing software and/or dealing with support issues - there's only so much I can do.
Before I get flamed by the hordes of happy Android developers/users. I'm sure it's a lovely device to use and write for. I've used some Google open source code in the new iPhone version of BA and it was a dream to use.

Looks awesome. Can't wait! Will it sync somehow with the desktop version? Perhaps through MobileMe?

This is amazing! Will it be a free download for BA users or is there cost attached?

You make it, I'll buy it, and gladly... I think that the price range you've eluded to is totally worth it.

And when will come an Android Version of the application?
Dom
Probably never.
why?
For a number of reasons but primarily
1) It would require a total rewrite (the iPhone version was/is bad enough)
2) I don't own an Android device.
3) Market share - Android has about as much buzz about it as a dead Bee. I have NEVER seen a real Android device being used by a real human being. I see dozens of iPhones every day.
