About version 1.2.1 of BeerAlchemy

Today we released a new version of BeerAlchemy, version 1.2.1. We strongly advise that all users upgrade to the new version as soon as possible.

This new version fixes a serious bug in the BrewDays section of the program that affects those recipes that use the same ingredient more than once (for example two or more additions of the same hop variety). In recipes such as these, the first instance of the ingredient may be altered without user intervention to being the sum of all the instances of that ingredient. For example, if a recipe uses three additions of Saaz of 20g, 10g and 10g, the first addition will be incorrectly changed to being 40g - the sum of the additions. This bug is cumulative so later the first addition may be again changed - this time to 60g.

As well as updating to this new version, we recommend that users check their recipes to ensure they are as they expected them to be and edit them if needed. Additionally some batch entries may not be as you expect. The options for editing batches after creation are somewhat limited. If you feel you would like to edit the recipes in your batches that you have already created, contact us using the feedback form in the application and we will try and help you.

Obviously, we are really sorry if you are affected by this bug. It doesn't look good on us but we feel it's better to come clean with our users rather than try and pretend nothing's wrong or to sneak a bug fix out and hope no one notices!
